They will commemorate all those affected by cancer with tonight's event.
The Irish Cancer society does incredible work. Not just for those who have cancer, but also for their friends and family. Tonight, on the 30th November, they pay tribute to the 9,000 people who lost their lives due to cancer in 2021.
The event will have TV presenter Muireann O'Connell light up the Garden of Light at the Society's headquarters. O'Connell sadly lost her father to cancer in March 2021, so the charity is one that's close to her heart. Joining her will be an Irish Cancer Society Night Nurse, Pat Tyrell, who provides end of life care at home for cancer patients.
The Irish Cancer Society provides night nursing, counselling, as well as a support line. They rely on the generosity of the Irish public to continue the fantastic work that they do. Currently they have their Christmas shop open, where you can purchase these sweet frame decorations. This is a truly beautiful gift for anyone who's been affected by cancer.

Averil Power, the CEO of the Irish Cancer Society, says of the Christmas period:
“Tonight and every night, including Christmas, Irish Cancer Society Night Nurses will be in homes across Ireland supporting families and allowing people to spend their final days at home. This is an incredibly special service and we are so grateful to everyone who donates to the Irish Cancer Society for making it possible.”
