Here’s How You Know If You Have A Drinking Problem, Apparently

It's no secret that Irish people drink a lot - so much so that if someone is showing signs of addiction, it's not always taken seriously. 

If you've ever wondered whether you, a friend or a family member might be an alcoholic, there are some simple things to look out for.  

Women's Health have put together this list of important questions to ask, with help from clinical alcohol and drug counselor Beth Kane-Davidson.

"If you can acknowledge that the answers to these questions are not the answers you wish they were, then it’s good to talk to somebody," she said. 

1. Does your social life revolve around alcohol?

2. How much do you drink? 

3. Do you usually end up drinking more than planned? 

4. What's your intention when you drink? 

5. Have you gotten to know guilt and regret really well? 

6. Do you black out? 

7. Do you lie about how much you're drinking? 

8. Has a friend or family member expressed concern? 

Basically, if you're constantly drinking much more than you planned, having blackouts, and depending on alcohol to relax after work, it might be time to reassess your behaviour.
