That was a nice summer we had once.
After a couple of weeks of fairly pleasant (and at times rather good) weather, it looks like things will take a turn for the worse this Saturday and Sunday. Alan O'Reilly of Carlow Weather has stated that while the next 48 hours will have some good sunny spells, 'Saturday might hold mainly dry until late evening but Saturday night and Sunday are looking wet at present.'

For their part, Met Éireann have said that it will be 'starting dry on Saturday with sunny spells. Cloud will increase from the west through the morning with rain arriving on western shores by the evening. Highs of 14 to 19 degrees in moderate southerly winds, increasing fresh to strong on coasts.'
On Sunday, they add that there is 'some uncertainty re the forecast for but current indications suggest a cloudy day with showery outbreaks of rain for much of the country. Highs of only 14 to 17 degrees, in light easterly or variable breezes. '
