Irish shoppers are less than impressed with online shopping website ASOS at the moment, after customers spotted a pair of Claddagh-inspired earrings that the retailer is trying to pass off as their own design.
A short description of the earrings on the website places them under the 'ASOS design' category.
"This is ASOS DESIGN - your go-to for all the latest trends, no matter who you are, where you’re from and what you’re up to. Exclusive to ASOS, our universal brand is here for you, and comes in all our fit ranges: ASOS Curve, Tall, Petite and Maternity. Created by us, styled by you."
Pointing out that the above fails to mention the product's similarities to the Irish Claddagh ring, journalist Sarah Magliocco shared a screenshot of the earrings to her social media. Twitter has not responded well to the discovery, calling on the website to remove the product completely.
