Caravans are as much part of Electric Picnic as the music and rain and this year festival-goers are being handed the opportunity to spruce up their vehicles with a little financial aid.
Organisers have announced the 2020 'Art Caravan' competition, which will see 20 grants ranging from €500 and €2,000 go towards the designing, building and presenting of your own caravan at this year's festival.
Electric Picnic have hired the help of Channel 4 craftsman Will Hardie, a judge on Shed Of The Year, to choose the successful applicants. In a post about the contest, EP said: 'We are now on the hunt for creative teams to invent, design, build and host their own caravan or mobile structure at this year’s Electric Picnic. The most jaw-dropping and inspiring ideas will be given pride of place in the bustling metropolis of Trailer Park.'

'Artists, architects, theatre-makers, performance groups and creators' are being encouraged to take part. Design proposals will be read by a judging panel who will choose the best ideas and work with applicants to bring their designs to life.
For his part, Will Hardie said: "From my television work, I have come to understand that Ireland and the UK are home to so many alternative thinkers who demonstrate incredible vision, ingenuity and skill in the projects they build at home, and this competition coaxes them into the public eye.”
