The cooler autumn weather has us dreaming up delicious, hearty food and drink experiences, and luckily for us, the southern stretch of the Wild Atlantic Way is brimming with ways to embrace our inner gourmands.
During your next getaway to the region, dive deep into the local culinary culture by filling your itinerary with food tours, markets and experiences. Add them to your short break and you’ll quickly understand the hype that surrounds the west coast food scene.

Satisfy your salmon curiosity in your next trip out west with a tour of the Burren Smokehouse. This state-of-the-art facility is situated in the buzzy town of Lisdoonvarna and it takes visitors on a fascinating foodie journey. During a tour, you'll get a glimpse into the smoking production, hear inspiring stories, and, of course, get the chance to sample some delicious smoked salmon.
After the tour, swing by the neighbouring Burren Storehouse - an industrial themed pub and restaurant serving up pizzas, shellfish and a great selection of ales and stouts from the Burren Brewery.

Indulge your taste-buds - and your inner gourmand - on your next short break by booking an experience with Kenmare Foodie Tours. During this three-and-a-half hour trail, you’ll meet local artisans and producers as food blogger Karen Coakley leads you round the town. Expect to taste a deliciously diverse range of food, including breads, cheese, sausages and ice-cream.
Beyond this food tour, there’s plenty to do in Kenmare. Tuck into pizza and a beer from the Tom Crean Brewery, and enjoy a sweet treat during a visit to Lorge Chocolatier.

One fantastic way to get acquainted with a new city - while tucking into something tasty - is with a visit to a food market, which is why Limerick's Milk Market should be at the top of your itinerary for your next short break. Wander through its vast stalls with hot coffee in hand, grab some food to go from the eateries and just take in the atmosphere.
Afterwards, enjoy a stroll to some of the nearby sites, including King John’s Castle, The Hunt Museum and Saint Mary’s Cathedral.

The buzzy Cork town of Kinsale is a food-lovers paradise, and there's no better way to dive deep into its rich gourmand culture than with Kinsale Food Tours. On this walking tour, your guide will bring you to a selection of the town's most beloved eateries - you'll hear stories, meet local characters, and of course, sample some delicious food.
After your tour, treat yourself to some much needed relaxation at Kinsale Hotel and Spa. When the night rolls in, and a moody atmosphere settles on the town, check out Kinsale Ghost Tours – tis the season after all!
