Galway Restaurants Are Bringing A Street Food Feast To The City’s Oldest Neighbourhood

Get on down to Galway for the June Bank Hol weekend - as if you needed another excuse, eh?

Well, this excuse comes in the shape of a very tasty day out in the city's oldest neighbourhood.

After its inaugural first year which saw 2,500 people casually drop by, Galway’s westend will host their neighbourhood Street Feast on Bank Holiday Monday, June 4, from 11am to 4pm.

The Street Feast is bringing together the much loved and award-winning businesses in the area as part of the westend summer celebrations.

People will get a chance to meet the producers and the chefs of westend eateries and also sample some of their most well-known dishes and there'll be live music and face painting for the kids (and big kids).

The Street Feast will allow you to sample a taste of each business including Kai Restaurant, Dela Restaurant, John Keoghs The Lockkeeper, An Tobar Nua, Rouge Restaurant, Gourmet Tartm Creole BBQ & Grill, Hooked on Henry Street, Crust Bucket, Tartare Cafe + Wine Bar, Massimo Bar and Monroes.

Plus, you can eat away and feel good about it too, as Galway's westend have teamed up with Walsh Waste to make this a biodegradable and compostable festival, using eco packaging and take away materials.

“Each business will be offering a flavour of what they do. The area will be set up as a picnic area and we are inviting Galway to the westend to enjoy all of our amazing food. Each business will have a stall set up selling food and refreshments, there will be live blue grass music and face painting will be happening for all the children,” explained Mags Bohan of Dela Restaurant and the westend Traders association.

This event is weather dependent, but as long as its dry, it’s going ahead.
