A 17-day-long gin festival you say? Well, that's one way to celebrate the end of dry January I suppose. Not that I adhered to it - but for anyone who did I mean.
Wetherspoons has announced that all their pubs across the UK and Ireland will be playing host to a 17-day-long gin festival next month.
Starting on Valentine's Day, the festival will run from Friday, February 14th until Sunday, March 1st inclusive.
Branches will be serving up 14 different types of gins from across England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland and Italy - including flavoured gins, gin-based liqueurs and even a distilled non-alcoholic version.
Amongst the flavoured gins, you'll find ginger and cinnamon, fresh strawberry, grapefruit, rhubarb, marmalade, watermelon, berries and orange blossom. As for the flavoured tonics on offer - there's a Valencian orange, elderflower and pink grapefruit.
Awful exotic altogether.
Festival organiser Jen Swindells said:
"We have sourced an excellent range of gins, a number of which have not previously bee available in our pubs. We're confident that our customers will enjoy the different gins which each have their own unique appeal."
The expansion of Wetherspoons in Ireland is set to continue this year after they confirmed a €30million investment into the
Irish expansion of the brand.
The next branch is set to open in Ireland in late May/early June of this year at the former HQ Bar and Restaurant in
Hanover Quay along with another on Camden Street and one in Waterford that is expected to open sometime during the summer.
