Have you ever come across a café or restaurant and you just want to tell everyone about it?
Tucked away on Moneylands farm near Arklow Co. Wicklow is the stunning café that is The Broken Chair. Since opening in February, it's been on my list to check out and recently, I finally got the chance to. Thankfully, I was not disappointed and it lived up to all expectations.
The café is situated on a quiet, charming farm and is surrounded by nature. It is the ideal spot to visit if you want to take a trip away from city noise and busy roads.
It's exactly the kind of spot Arklow has been lacking for the last few years. Somewhere to sit and have a lovely lunch or coffee, without having to travel too far outside of the town.
The café was bustling when I arrived and full of character. It has big comfy couches, a blanket on each to keep your legs nice and toasty while you tuck in, fairy lights and adorable decor. Classic, crisp and clean - the dream combo in my books.
There is also a large seating area out the front for lunch on sunny days, which I loved.
The lunch menu mainly focuses on open-top sandwiches and salads.
I ordered a brie and bacon sandwich which came with a side salad and coleslaw. The sandwich was oozing with stringy cheese and the bacon was perfectly crispy - It was the perfect Friday treat and exactly what I had hoped for.
I could definitely see myself coming back here time and time again.
Tasty grub, brilliant coffee and top-notch service? This place really did impress me.
Next time your travelling between Wicklow and Wexford, you just have to stop off here for a coffee and some grub.
