There will be no time limits for indoor hospitality when it returns this summer, if tables can be placed at two metres apart.
However, if space is limited to one metre between tables then a 105-minute time limit will be in place. There will also be a maximum of limit of six adults plus children per group with only table service permitted, while pubs will be required to put a greater focus on ventilation when they reopen.
These are all part of new Fáilte Ireland guidelines that are due to be published this evening. No such time limit will exist for outdoor hospitality which is due to resume on June 7. The guidelines are a collaboration between Fáilte Ireland and the Department of Tourism.
The rules are expected to be confirmed this evening and a date for the reopening of indoor hospitality should be included in the Government's announcement on the next phase of easing restrictions on Friday.
