It's October and the cold weather is well and truly setting in.
We can already feel it.
With Halloween just around the corner, this European spot is the best place to go if you want to getaway this October Bank Holiday.
Where is it?
It's the historical region of Transylvania in central Romania.
The area is renowned for it's medieval towns, castles and Gothic fortresses associated with the legend of Count Dracula.
Transylvania is full of history, great eateries and national monuments, making it the perfect spot for this Halloween.
There's no other place quite like it and it's really special.
Here are the top spots that you need to check out if you ever plan to visit.
The worldwide famous castle is situated in Bran near Brașov and is a national monument and landmark in Romania.
Built up on a cliff by Saxons in 1377, it was used to protect the gateway to Translyvania at the Bran Pass and it attracts a huge number of tourists each year.
Many visit it because it is often linked to Dracula and is known as 'Dracula's Castle'.
With its Gothic portals, narrow staircases and many secret passageways, it is definitely something you need to see in person.
The castle became the home to Queen Marie Of Romania in the 1920s and is now a museum.
We are in love with it.
This is one of the biggest ice caves in the Apuseni Mountains of Romania and is considered to be one of the natural wonders of Romania.
And it's simply breath-taking.
Scărișoara Ice Cave also houses the second biggest underground glacier in south-eastern Europe.
The glacier is said to be between 3000-4000 years old. Jaysis...
This restaurant is situated on Piața George Enescu in the historic Brașov and is a must go to for any foodies out there.
Dei Frati offers a wide range of food, so you are bound to find something to satisfy your taste buds and they do delicious Italian dishes as well with their homemade pasta.

If the weather is good there is nothing better than a stroll through Cluj-Napoca's Central Park.
The public park is stunning and was founded in the 19th century and is just along the south shore of Someşul Mic River.
It now is the home to the University of Arts and Design and in 2012 restoration took place and the Old Casino building is a must see.

The well preserved medieval town sits on the Târnava Mare River in Mureș, and is known by tourists as the 'birthplace of Dracula'.
It is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is one of the only seven fortified towns that was founded by the Saxons in Transylvania.
The old town is full of cobbled streets and alleyways and it has very cute brightly painted houses, stunning stone archways and the Clock Tower is definitely the focal point of the quirky little Sighisoara.
The Clock Tower is thought to be the place where Dracula lived along with his father.
If you really want to get in on the Dracula trend, some shops in the area claim to sell 'Vampire Wine' and locally produced products relating to the legendary story.
You need to see this cute little town.
The Transylvania region should definitely be on your list for an October getaway.
