Eminem now selling ‘Mom’s Spaghetti’ pasta sauce

This is some pretty monumental food news. Recently we wrote an article about all the food we've always wanted to eat from TV shows or movies, but somehow we forgot to include songs, and Mom's Spaghetti would certainly have been pretty damn close to the top of the list. I think we can collectively agree that Mom's Spaghetti is not our own mothers' spaghetti (I'm sure your mam's bolognese is lovely but it's not the Mom's Spaghetti) but rather a concept, one we could hardly have imagined becoming real - until now. Eminem took to Instagram to share the news that you can now buy a jar of Mom's Spaghetti pasta sauce online, and it will set you back $13. Going by the same name as his restaurant, which officially launched two years ago in Detroit, this sauce ought to be something truly special.

Taste like leftover sauce, the first time around

On the official Mom's Spaghetti website, this is how the pasta sauce is described:

"The thing about Mom’s Spaghetti is that it was born with a clear mission: taste like a leftover sauce the first time around. Those second day sauces bring something else to the table… something seasoned and experienced. They’ve got no time to mess around. This isn’t a sauce that tastes like what your neighbor’s Italian grandma would spend all day simmering. No. This is a clean take on a classic jar sauce, crafted in the straightest manner… honest… legit… not saddled with any nonsense. Because when you set out to put Mom’s Spaghetti in a jar; you’re inspired by delivering something that’s real… born to be served at street level… and born to bring it. This is a sauce that’s original and off-the-shelf at the same time. Just crack open the jar, heat a batch up and add your favorite s’ghetti or noodles: you’re ready to serve up a dish that won’t let you down."

It sounds like it tastes exactly how I always expected it would. As for the ingredients, this is what makes up the infamous sauce: Ground tomatoes in puree (tomatoes, tomato puree, citric acid), tomato paste, filtered water, onions, sugar, garlic, carrots, canola oil,* spices, sea salt, red wine vinegar. *Expeller-pressed & non-GMO. Sadly you can only purchase it in the US, but we'll keep our fingers crossed that one of the Irish supermarkets becomes a stockist soon. Hey, if Dunnes can start selling Baskin Robbins ice-cream, there's hope for us yet.
