From stage times to transport, here's a full itinerary for this year's New Year's Festival, Dublin
With the festivities winding down, it's time to start thinking ahead and putting together some festive plans for New Year's Eve.
For those planning to celebrate in Dublin, this year's
New Year's Festival is the ultimate spot to ring in 2023. Taking place at North Wall Quay, the festival features a stellar line-up of Irish musical talent and loads of fun events, from family-friendly performances to brilliant live gigs.
If you're planning on seeing out 2022 at the iconic winter festival, we've put together a very handy itinerary to help you plan your weekend away in the capital.
From stage times to the full festival line-up, here's everything you need to know ahead of New Year's Eve...
New Year's Festival, Dublin line-up
This year's line-up is a good one, folks...
Earlier in the day on December 31, the
Midnight Family Matinée will be headlined by
Gavin James, with support from
Lyra and
Brad Heidi, along with
The Blizzards, Tolü Makay, Bradley Marshall, Dara Quilty’s Bangers, 2FM’s Emma Power, Katie Phelan, Kingfishr and
Rachel Mae Hannon. There'll also be food outlets and multiple small stages with bands, DJs and performers, promising an exciting start to the New Year's Eve celebrations.
Later in the evening, all of these iconic acts will return for the main New Year's Eve countdown event as support acts, with
Westlife leading us into 2023.
Finally, on
New Year's Day, an afternoon of live music takes place in Temple Bar, coupled with some brilliant live street performances, tasty food vendors and loads more festive fun for every age group.

There are still tickets available for this year's New Year's Festival, Dublin. The Midnight Family Matinée is suitable for all ages and tickets start from just €7.90

HERE but, if you're travelling with kids, bear in mind that anyone aged under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
The New Year's Day event in Temple Bar is free to attend, no tickets are required.
Stage times
The Midnight Family Matinée starts at 4pm, leading to an early countdown event at 7pm for little ones looking to enjoy some of the New Year's Eve magic.
Later in the evening, the Countdown Concert runs at the Festival Village runs from 8pm -12.30am with support acts taking the stage first, followed by Westlife later in the evening.
On New Year's Day, celebrations will run from 1-6pm at Meeting House Square, with more performers in around Temple Bar throughout the day.
Transport
Irish Rail and Bus Éireann are operating services to Dublin on New Year's Eve, just be sure to book your seats well in advance. North Wall Quay can be accessed via the Luas Red Line and by a number of Dublin Bus routes, making planning your journey to the festival super stress-free.
