Project 100 is a community tourism project with the purpose of changing people's lives for the better, through travel.
Known for championing community tourism and responsible travel,
G Adventures has teamed up with non-profit partner Planeterra once again. Centred on empowering women, the new venture is entitled Project 100 and will positively impact more than 2,800 women in their local communities.
Part of their commitment to having 100 Planeterra projects built into G Adventures tours by the end of this year, the company has added five new projects to the mix - bringing the total number of existing tours up to 85.
Still only three months into the new year - it looks like reaching the 100 project mark will be easy going.
With a firm focus on empowering women, the new projects come just ahead of International Women's Day, which falls on Sunday, March 8th this year.
Berracas de la 13 - Comuna 13, Medellin, Colombia
Now a popular tourist destination, Medellin was once a city rife with crime, violence and drugs - mostly due to its associations with Pablo Escobar.
Created by a group of women, Berracas de la 13 allows visitors to experience the magic of one of the most innovative cities in the world through the local tour and meal service - while simultaneously empowering women and youth in the local community.
Together We Earn - Kerala, India
The Together We Earn programme has helped to elevate female empowerment to the next level by providing tangible skills-training opportunities for local women. The construction of a kitchen in Alleppey has helped to create a guaranteed customer base of travellers and a sustainable source of income.

Domari Culture and Craft Experience - Jerusalem, Israel
Visitors who choose this tour, are introduced to the Domari community. Traditional food is served, cultural stories are shared and local handicrafts are showcased to positively impact the community.
Shedia Home - Athens, Greece
Boasting a youth unemployment rate of 50 per cent, homelessness continues to be one of the biggest social issues facing Greece at the moment. Shedia Home is a not-for-profit organisation that works to help the local homeless community by giving them the opportunity to earn an income. The Shedia Home tour "makes the invisible (homeless), visible".
Maldives Plastic Program - Malé, Maldives
Planeterra has integrated plastic pick-ups into all G Adventures tours through the Maldives. Made up 99 per cent water and only one per cent land, ocean pollution is a worrying issue for the Maldives. The collected plastic is then used for upcycling in countries equipped with adequate infrastructure to do so.
