Yikes – Here’s How Much Money You’ll Waste On Bad Dates In 2018

You've matched on Tinder, that chat has been on fire and you think 'finally.' A normal person. So, you arrange a date. Few drinks, maybe a casual coffee - sure it'll be just lovely. 

Then... Disaster strikes. The date is BAD. Like, you've either not spoken two words all throughout the evening or else you realise that you're actually on a date with a full on ignorant racist. Ugh. 

The worst part is you're now quids out after splashing out your money on the date itself. 

But do you know just how much money you'll spend on bad dates this year if you're single?

New research by the dating site eHarmony has found that single people will waste about six hours of their life and an estimated €272 this year on bad dates. It found that single people go on about eight dates a year, of which roughly four are "bad."

The average date lasts for 1.4 hours and requires a spend of €32. Basically, two-three cocktails at a half-decent bar. 

After going on a bad date, more than one in six people (16%) report feeling disheartened, while many others claim to leave feeling self-conscious (12%) and even depressed (13%). 

This miiiiiight just explain then, why more than half of singles (51%) won't be dating at all this year. Better off saving. But love? Priceless.
