It’s hard to believe this isn’t straight out of some comedy caper movie.
The Irish rugby team were given a rather bizarre police escort through the streets of Rome yesterday and the video footage really is something else.
A police car leading the escort can be seen weaving all over road with its sirens on, waving off other cars and racing miles ahead of the bus carrying the team.
It also appears to narrowly avoid a couple of other cars along the way, though the lads don’t seem too fazed by the whole thing and can be heard laughing at the police car’s antics.

The team are in Rome ahead of their Six Nations match against Italy and at least we can be fairly sure they’ll be arriving at their destination on time…
