Last night's Claire Byrne show featured a segment on how to dress for the weather this winter. Aiming to help viewers make sure they're good and toasty when eating outdoors, Irish mountaineer Pat Falvey was on hand to demonstrate how to layer up and keep warm.
Widely considered to be the 'new norm', restaurants are still adjusting to level three restrictions - adapting their business models in response to a government ban on indoor dining and trying to facilitate outdoor dining instead. Scrambling to put up temporary rain cover and install moveable heaters, such facilities can only do so much and it's really up to each individual customer to ensure that they're properly dressed for the changeable weather.
Addressing the situation on the situation on the Claire Byrne Show, this week's programme featured a special segment on how to do just. Enlisting the help of high-altitude mountaineer and polar explorer Pat Falvey, he showed viewers how to use layers to their advantage - even demonstrating the proper way to put a coat on.
Recommending people invest in thermals, a good coat and a pair of gloves, Twitter users didn't know whether to make of the whole thing with some describing the show as a "parody" and comparing it to something you'd expect to see on a children's programme.
