Bono Hints That It Could Be The End Of The Road For U2

We always thought that U2 would be 80, getting wheeled onto the stage at Croke Park and rocking out.

In all seriousness, we thought they would play forever, quite like what The Rolling Stones are doing but it turns out, Bono might be calling a day to U2's touring.

His shows in Dublin and Belfast next month could be the band's last as Bono admitted that he "can’t do as much as [he] used to".

He told The Sunday Times that he has taken far too many "punches" over the years and as a result, the wear and tear is starting to show.

"The Edge says I look at my body as an inconvenience, and I do. I really love being alive and I’m quite good at being alive, meaning I like to get the best out of any day.

"I can’t do as much as I used to. On previous tours I could meet a hundred lawmakers in between shows and now I know I can’t do that. This tour is particularly demanding

"Whether you have a face-off with your own mortality or somebody close to you does, you are going to get to a point in your life where you ask questions about where you’re going."

In September, Bono had to cancel a show because of voice loss and when asked if U2 would take on a world tour in the future, the front man said:

"I don’t know. I don’t take anything for granted."

The Edge added that Bono still has a good range but needs to save his voice if he wants to prolong performing.

"His top note would be a B these days, but he has hit C, which is what a top tenor would hit, and is very, very high. An opera singer would hit that maybe once a night."
