Do You Know What The Words In The Intro To ‘The Lion King’ Actually Mean?

The Lion King probably takes one of the top spots on the list of our favourite Disney films.

Why? It's just so bloody good.

From the to the amazing storyline to the most adorable characters (not you, Scar)and iconic music, you just can't beat it.

However, even after watching the movie countless times over and over again, one thing we never knew was what the lyrics at the beginning of The Circle of Life actually translated to.

Thankfully, Business Insider revealed what the lyrics mean, and it all makes so much more sense now.

The song begins being sung in Zulu, before changing into English after the first few lines. The lyrics are: 

"Nants ingonyama bagithi Baba
Sithi uhm ingonyama
Nants ingonyama bagithi baba
Sithi uhhmm ingonyama
Ingonyama
Siyo Nqoba
Ingonyama
Ingonyama nengw' enamabala"

If you speak Zulu, you probably already know what this all means.

But for those of us who aren't familiar with the language, here's what it all translates to.

"Here comes a lion, father Oh yes it’s a lion
Here comes a lion, father Oh yes it’s a lion
A lion
We’re going to conquer
A lion
A lion and a leopard come to this open place"
