Pretty much every WhatsApp group, office and all of social media were talking about one television series in particular last year, and for good reason: The Handmaid's Tale is an absolutely blinder of a show.
Aired on Channel 4 last year, it's now (finally!) coming to RTE next week.
The dystopian drama is based on Margaret Atwood's novel about a future American theocracy, in which declining birth rates have led to a new social order, where the few remaining fertile women are kept as slaves to carry children for the regime's leaders.
Elisabeth Moss stars as one of these women, who struggles to cope with her repressive existence and the resentment of her owner's wife.
Oh, and the soundtrack is full of absolute bangers.
The Handmaid's Tale will be screened with a double-bill on Monday at 9.30pm. The second series will be released on American channel Hulu at the end of April.
