The Late Late Show is back this Friday night and host Ryan Tubridy has revealed who he'll be chatting to in the first episode of the new season.
When The Late Late Show last left us in May, we had gotten well used to seeing Ryan Tubridy sitting in an empty studio, interviewing guests virtually. However, public health guidelines at the time allowed for a small selection of musical guests in studio and it made for some
memorable performances.
Now, at the other end of the summer, we're in a largely unchanged situation, even if Irish society has opened up to a certain extent. Ryan will take up hosting duties without a studio audience but that doesn't mean TV viewers can't enjoy some stellar guests this Friday night. Chief among them will be Gary Lightbody of Snow Patrol who, according to Tubridy will 'be on to kind of represent the Electric Picnic that wasn't', given that the festival was supposed to take place this weekend.
As well as that, viewers will hear from legendary GAA commentator Mícheál Ó Muircheartaigh who chatted to Ryan in a pre-recorded interview in the Croke Park stands last week.
During lockdown, a collaborative group called
Women In Harmony made waves with their cover of Dreams by The Cranberries and they will be joining Ryan for a live rendition of the cover which was aimed at raising funds for people affected by domestic abuse.
Other unnamed guests have also been promised as Ireland settles back into a familiar Friday night routine. You can catch The Late Late Show on RTE One from 9.35pm on Friday night.
