Some enjoyed the ending of Wednesday evening's RTÉ News report more than others.
Closing out the Six One news on Halloween, the production team at RTÉ decided to get a bit creative with their graphics.
After signing off their report, presenters Eileen Whelan and Ray Kennedy suddenly disappeared when a spooky backdrop appeared behind them.
The next image on viewers' screens was the sight of several bats flying towards the camera in what was a light-hearted way to wish everyone a happy
Halloween.
Most saw the funny side of it and commended the
state broadcaster for their creativity while there were some critics of the report.

Younger viewers got a great kick out of it.

Some suggested that the news was no place for such fun.

But the general consensus was that it was the perfect way to put trick-or-treaters in the Halloween mood.
