The 2020 IFTA nominations are here

The nominations for this year's IFTA awards are in, with the ceremony crowning the best of Irish film and TV to take place virtually in September.

Due to C0vid-19 restrictions, the Irish Film & Television Academy (IFTA) has decided that no physical ceremony will take place until April 2021 at the earliest. That doesn't mean that the best of the Irish film industry won't be recognised in 2020. The full list of nominations was issued yesterday and while Normal People was notable by its absence, fans of Connell and Marianne shouldn't fear. The international mega-hit was only not included because it didn't meet the deadline and it will be included next year.
