Controversial ‘Surviving R Kelly’ Documentary Is Airing On Irish Television Soon

The explosive documentary series Surviving R Kelly is going to be aired on Irish television next month.

The six-part series documents the singer’s history of alleged abuse and his illegal marriage to 14-year-old popstar Aaliyah. It also features stories from several women alleging that R Kelly sexually abused them, which he has always denied.

The show made a serious impact following its release in the US recently and was one of the Lifetime TV channel’s most-watched shows from the past two years.

Following the backlash aimed at R Kelly, several celebrities including Lady Gaga and Chance The Rapper have apologised for working with him and removed their collaborations from streaming services.

Executive producer Joel Karsberg told The Hollywood Reporter, "We've been working for over a year to bring forth the stories of these women.

"We are proud to team with Lifetime to shed light on these stories as well as an industry that has looked the other way for so many years."

Surviving R Kelly episodes one and two will be aired on Sky’s Crime & Investigation channel on Tuesday, February 5 at 10pm, followed by one episode every Tuesday after that.
