Status Red Weather Warning Issued As ‘Violent Gusts’ Of 150km/h Approach

Met Éireann has extended its weather warning to status red for Co. Clare ahead of the arrival of Storm Hannah tonight. While status yellow means 'be aware' and status orange means 'be prepared', the official guidelines for status red urges to public to 'take action'. This means that the public should 'take action to protect themselves and/or their properties; this could be by moving their families out of the danger zone temporarily; by staying indoors; or by other specific actions aimed at mitigating the effects of the weather conditions.' https://twitter.com/MetEireann/status/1121736896697241600 While it's possible that the red warning could be extended further, most of the country remains under orange and yellow alert. Galway, Cork, Kerry, Limerick, Tipperary and Waterford have orange warnings in place until the early hours of Saturday morning. Meanwhile, the remainder of Connacht, as well as Carlow, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Longford, Wexford, Wicklow, Offaly and Donegal are under a yellow warning until 9am tomorrow.
