There's nothing better than an Irish goodbye, especially when it's executed perfectly.
And Saoirse Ronan knows exactly how to nail the perfect Irish goodbye and her reasons for doing so are even better than the goodbye itself.
Speaking on The Ellen Show, Ronan said that:
"I got out there a lot faster than I had anticipated because I wanted to go get some pizza with my friends.
"I ran, and I changed, I went back to the hotel, and I got into my pyjamas. I went over and it was so quick and we watched the rest of it on TV.”
"I presented the award to Christian Bale and was like 'Great, yeah. This is great for you. Alright, I’m gonna leave now.'
"It was brilliant, I got the best of both worlds."
As well as this, Ronan started flogging off souvenirs from the show with everything and anything coming out of her bag.
"The first thing we’ve got for anyone who wants it, is a menu. I don’t know who would be the highest bidder.
"We have an empty bottle of water. I think I either drank it or Charlize Theron might have had a sip, she’s a lot more impressive than I am.
"We’ve got some napkins, creased napkins. This is genuinely everything that was at the Golden Globes last night.
"There’s a couple of tulips here, for anyone who wants one. Fresh? They were fresh yesterday, anyway."
She sounds like someone trying to sell fruit at a market.
