If you were to compile a list of the best Irish acting performances of the decade, Peter Coonan would obviously win followed closely by Saoirse Ronan.
Coonan's star turn as psychotic gangster Fran Cooney in Love/Hate had tongues wagging throughout the first half of the 2010s and while the success of Ronan is on a slightly more international scale, Irish viewers will never forget Fran's killer one-liners or the fact that he was an actual killer.
Little Women star Ronan clearly reckons Peter is cúla búla as well, so much so that she even named her dog after his most famous character. Speaking to Ian Dempsey on Today FM this morning, the 25-year-old said "Fran from Love/Hate is my favourite character, I love Peter Coonan and I've told him this. Originally we wanted a boy dog and then we met Fran and we were like 'it's only ever been you' so she got the name. So she's named after a drug dealer from inner city Dublin."
