Renowned Santa tracker NORAD has confirmed that Santa Claus has left the North Pole to begin his annual journey around the world.
The big man left his base at around 9.30am Irish time and will deliver presents to children in the likes of Tuvalu, South Korea and Singapore before hitting up mainland Europe and Ireland later tonight.
NORAD Tracks Santa is organised by the North American Aerospace Defense Command and has been following St. Nick's Christmas Eve movements since 1955. It regularly updates its Twitter feed throughout the day and also has a live feed where visitors can see exactly what Santa is up to at any given moment.

Earlier, some Twitter users noted that the Santa Tracker crashed which is no surprise when you consider it racked up almost 20 million visitors in 2014.
However, it looks to be back up and running and you can keep an eye on Santa via NORAD tracks Santa
here or via the Twitter account
here. Just make sure you're all asleep when he lands in Ireland later tonight.
