The first weekend of Level 5 restrictions has come and gone and, according to RTE, it seems that many of us spent it by consuming an awful lot of telly.

RTE have revealed some of their viewing figures for the Bank Holiday weekend and among the findings is the most-watched Late Late Show of the season. Yep, it has been confirmed that a massive average audience 636,000 tuned in on Friday night to watch Ryan Tubridy speak with Bruce Springsteen, Matthew McConaughey and a whole host of other guests. https://twitter.com/RTELateLateShow/status/1321104401768108038 With the nation being asked to stay at home as much as possible and the clocks going back on Saturday, other figures show that we just couldn't get enough of the national broadcaster over the long weekend. As well as the hugely popular Late Late, an average audience of 569,000 tuned in for the emotional episode of DIY SOS, while Incredible Homes with Dermot Bannon (featuring Matt Damon's Dalkey hideaway) drew in 392,000. On the sporting side of things, an average of 326,000 people watched Limerick overcome Clare in the Munster Hurling Championship on Sunday afternoon and those figures are sure to get higher as we go deeper into an unusual GAA winter. https://twitter.com/RTEPress/status/1321090702416240648 With plenty more weekends of staying at home to come, some decent telly is exactly what we need.
