Starring Gervais as widower Tony Johnson, black comedy-drama After Life follows him as he mourns his wife's death.
Bad news for fans of the hugely popular After Life series as creator Ricky Gervais has revealed that season three will be the final season of the show. Enjoying phenomenal success since first premiering back in March of last year, Netflix renewed the series for a third season after it shot to number on viewing lists across the world.
But it sounds like no amount of sweet-talking or big bucks will convince Gervais to start working on another season with him telling
The Mirror:
"I've already made my mind up - there just won't be a fourth.
"You never say never but you put those things out there to make you remember because it's tempting, it's very tempting."
Comparing his role as creator, writer, director, producer
and star of the hit show to that of a conductor leading an orchestra, the actor said that the line is very thin when it comes to knowing when to stop.
"The audience think they want another one but they don't now, they're not sure, so you've got to be careful. "
