Variety reports that Warner Bros. Television and the estate of J.R.R. Tolkien are in talks with Amazon Studios to develop a television series based on the incredible fantasy LOTR novels.

Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos is even said to be personally involved in the negotiations, a clear sign that things are seriously progressing.

While there has been "no deal set yet", it''s looking like it's only a matter of time. The cast reveal for this is going to be very, very interesting.
