
Scottish actor Sean Connery, who played James Bond in seven 007 movies, has passed away at the age of 90, it has been reported this afternoon.
Sean Connery made his debut as James Bond in 1962's Dr. No before appearing as the character six more times throughout the following two decades. Away from the series, he won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor in 1988 for his role in The Untouchables. He also starred in movies such as Highlander, The Rock, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade and The Hunt for Red October.
Born in Edinburgh in August 1930, Connery will be remembered by many as the most iconic actor to play James Bond. He is survived by his second wife Micheline Roquebrune, who he married in 1975, as well as his son Jason Connery.
