The award-winning documentary about Katie Taylor’s life and career got a massive reaction online after it aired on television for the first time last night.
The documentary, simply titled Katie, tells the story of the Olympic gold medal-winning boxer's attempts at breaking into the world of professional boxing as well as her fractured relationship with her father.
It aired on RTÉ One last night after being released in cinemas back in October and many people were moved by it after seeing it for the first time.
The documentary by Ross Whitaker showed Katie’s father and coach, Peter, by her side as her career blossomed and she even referred to him as her “best friend” in the footage.
But one of the moments that got everyone talking was Katie describing the heartbreaking moment her and her father parted ways.

Katie explained, "My dad decided to step away from the family and to do life with this other girl. I was going from seeing my dad every day to not seeing him at all."
She added: "I felt like my dad was somebody I could no longer work with really.
“The first time I had to go training without him I was going in by myself and the tears were actually rolling down my face. I was like, 'This is actually a reality for me.’
"I never thought I'd have to do this without him.”
The boxer also admitted that this was partly to blame for defeat at the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.
She said, "I knew when I made the decision to step away from my dad, it would cost me a lot. I just felt every time I stepped into the ring without dad, I was missing my right arm.”
