The New York City chef who barred and subsequently unbarred James Corden has said that he feels "really sorry" for the talk show host after revealing his alleged rude behaviour. Keith McNally, who owns Soho's Balthazar restaurant announced that Corden was banned and described an incident in which he yelled at the staff. In a post online, McNally alleged that the Cats star was "the most abusive customer" and "yelled like crazy" at the staff after they got his order wrong. In a post on Instagram, he explained that James attended the restaurant with his wife in October, and he complained that there was egg white mixed in with the yolk on his dish. The dish was remade, but sent back with fries instead of salad, as James requested. He wrote: "That's when James Corden began yelling like crazy to the server: 'You can't do your job! You can't do your job! Maybe I should go into the kitchen and cook the omelette myself!'" He went on to say that James was "very nasty" to the server, which led him to the decision to bar him from the establishment. McNally later shared that after Corden apologised "profusely" and the ban has been lifted as he strongly believes in "second chances". Now, McNally says that he feels sorry for the talk show host. In a caption on Instagram, he wrote that he is "feeling strange about the James Corden thing". "On the one hand, he was definitely abusive to my staff," he penned. "On the other hand, I feel really sorry for him right now. Like most cowards I want it both ways." He then added: "F**k it, I'm going to get drunk." Since McNally's story went viral, jokes about Corden being barred from using various services – including Ryanair – have been circulating on Twitter.
