Humans Of Shop Street Is The New Twitter Account You Absolutely Have To Follow

Twitter can be a strange place.

Just this week, it appears that Ed Sheeran left the social media network to avoid the volume of hatred he was getting from trolls every day.

However, there is another side to Twitter that involves nothing but wit, merrymaking and laughter.

And this is perfectly encapsulated by our newest Twitter obsession, Humans Of Shop St.

This newest Twitter page is growing more popular by the second, and with curator Darach Ó Séaghdha at the helm - the content is scripted to perfection.

Óengus Ó Creacháin has a pocket watch, moustache wax, a ribbon typewriter and a phonograph. He thinks email is old-fashioned. He's 22.

The page's bio describes itself as: ''Character sketches based on random Irish names from http://www.fantasynamegenerato... . A @theirishfor side-project.''

Darach spoke to Lovin.ie about the new set-up, and how it all came to be:

''One of my followers on @theirishfor - the very nice @GuyLeJeune - sent me a link to a writers' tool; it's a character name generator. I tried it out. The Irish names - which were intended to be used for druids and Celtic warriors - mostly sounded more like Gaeilgeoir hipsters to me. It just evolved from there!''

He also spoke from experience...

''I have a very Irish name myself (Darach Ó Séaghdha) so I know the stereotypes people have of us, so it was fun to send that up a bit. ''
