We might always be complaining about the freezing cold weather, the price of pints in Temple Bar, rain and our general paleness, but at the same time we wouldn't want to be from anywhere else.
The Irish are lucky enough to have a pub in every city and be pretty much loved where-ever we go, so it makes sense to be proud of a few things at least.
One Reddit user asked the question, what makes you proud to be Irish? And the answers are making our day...
'And how inventive we are with it. I fucking love swearing.'
'And not having to pay for an expensive army and airforce... saves billions.'
'Felt pretty fucking proud when the gay marriage vote went through'
'Hurling is a fucking wonderful sport, Gaelic is ok too.'
'We are generally incredibly friendly towards one another, and Irish people tend to be fairly funny too.'
'The answer's as simple as kerry butter lads, it's the craic. Plain and simple.'
'I never think about it in Ireland until a foreign raised woman points it out or I travel abroad and notice cat calling and sexism being almost the norm in some places.'
'Grainne Seoige'. Righto.
