The Abbey Theatre hosts a series of talks in situ in its Abbey St residence – but if you don't make it, fear not. The talks then go up online as podcasts. Technology is great, isn't it?
This podcast, hosted by Adrian Carty, is essentially a whole load of interviews with interesting folk from the world of startups, technology, business – and more. One of our faves is (obvs) with Lovin Dublin bestie, Colin Harmon of 3FE.
Elaine Buckley and Emily Glen are the bods behind Fair Game Podcast, a podcast that focuses specifically on women in sport. There are some seriously good discussions in the back catalogue, from talk of doping to sports journalism.
Another female-centric listen, The Irish Times' Women's Podcast, by columnist Róisín Ingle, has 50 episodes to listen back to and has become one of the best known – and highly lauded – in the country. If you haven't already, we'd recommend listening to them all some rainy weekend (there'll be one soon, guaranteed).
For something a little bit different, the General Meeting podcast is hosted by writer-performer Shane Langan and Delorentos' Níal Conlan and revolves around the world of creativity – featuring performances and chats from a whole host of Irish creatives: musicians, comedians, writers... The list goes on.
There is very little that Alison Spittle touches that doesn't turn to comedy gold, and her eponymous podcast is no different. With only 10 episodes, you've no excuse not to listen to them all. Twice.
Another one from the comedy aisle, Gearoid Farrelly's debut podcast episode featured a former member of Honeyz talking about giving it all up to become a midwife. Random? Yes. Enjoyable? 100%.
