Gardaí confirmed that they had "assisted the District Drug Unit in carrying out a search of a house in Waterford City as a result of an ongoing investigation into the sale and supply of Controlled Drugs in the Waterford area."
"A Large quantity of cannabis plants were seized along with significant quantity of harvested cannabis.
"The value of drugs seized is estimated to be approx. €30,000. One male (30s) was arrested and Detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at Waterford Garda Station.
"He was later released pending file now to DPP. Investigations are on going," the Gardaí confirmed.
They attached pictures of the cannabis seized with the post and some genius immediately commented underneath it saying "liked and shared thanks for the chance hope I win never win these things."
But the Gardaí had the last laugh.
