The internet has been awash with all things Britney Spears since the airing of a New York Times investigative documentary on the singer.
First premiering on US streaming platform Hulu earlier this month, a new documentary titled Framing Britney Spears has caused quite the stir amongst fans with producers now hinting that a follow-up piece could be a distinct possibility.
Unpacking the impact that living life in the spotlight has had on the performer, the documentary focuses mainly on the Free Britney movement and the conservatorship that has left Spears with no legal control over her estate or assets.
Speaking to
The Hollywood Reporter about whether they're considering a part two to the original, filmmakers involved in the project said that they'd "love" to revisit the story as there was so much content that didn't make the final cut.
"I think we'd love to, there was so much we had to leave on the cutting room floor and in our notebooks just for time. And also since the documentary aired, we've gotten a lot of information that we're interested in as well that we're interested in pursuing and reporting out further," senior story editor Liz day commented.
Adding that there is still "way more to learn about the circumstances of the conservatorship" - namely, how it's been running and why - director Samanta Stark said that she'd definitely like to explore that side of things more.
"I think it's important to look into everything. And of course, it will be very important to keep following the court hearings as they keep happening," she commented.
Meanwhile, Netflix bosses also confirmed that they have their own Britney doc in the works too - last week revealing that a Netflix special on the singer is already in the works. Headed up by filmmaker and true crime specialist Erin Lee Carr, no release date has been announced as of yet.
