Irish talent is well represented in this year's BAFTA TV Award nominations, with a number of our own making the cut.
The nominees for the BAFTA TV Awards 2020 have just been announced and a host of Irish talent features on the list including Derry Girls which is up for Best Scripted Comedy alongside Sharon Horgan's Catastrophe, Aisling Bea who is nominated in the Breakthrough Talent category and veteran chat show host Graham Norton.
Reacting to the news online, a number of the Derry Girls cast have been expressing their joy, including Nicola Coughlan who plays Clare Devlin on the show. Taking to Twitter, she wrote:
"Not every day you wake up to a @BAFTA nomination is it? So proud of the whole Derry Girls fam it means so much thank you."

Derry Girls creator Lisa McGee echoed her sentiments, adding that she's "hugely honoured" by the nomination.
Irish actress and writer Aisling Bea is up for her work on This Way Up, while cinematographer Suzie Lavelle has also been nominated in the Photography and Lighting: Fiction category. You can peruse the full list of nominees

Fans may be wondering how in the world the TV adaptation of Sally Rooney's Normal People didn't make the list but as it turns out, though called the 2020 BAFTA Awards, this year actually celebrates the best of TV from 2019 - and as Normal People only debuted this year, it's too new to make the cut. We're already predicting they'll clean up at next year's ceremony though.
