Cillian Murphy says ‘feck’ and salutes fellow Irish nominees in censored Golden Globes speech

The Oppenheimer star gave a lovely, funny speech.

Cillian Murphy used the Irish word "fecking" and shouted out his fellow Irish nominees in his partially censored Golden Globes win acceptance speech. Murphy took home the Best Actor in a Drama Movie prize for his lead role in Christopher Nolan's historical epic thriller Oppenheimer, beating out Irish actors Andrew Scott for All of Us Strangers and Barry Keoghan for Saltburn. Going up on stage with his wife Yvonne McGuinness' lipstick on his nose, the Peaky Blinders actor opened his speech by joking: "First question, do I have lipstick all over my nose? I'm just going to leave it.
“I knew the first time that I walked on a Chris Nolan set that it was different," he then added.
“I could tell by the level of rigour, the level of focus, the level of dedication, the complete lack of any seating options for actors – that I was in the hands of a visionary director, a master. "I want to thank Chris and Emma [Thomas, the director’s wife and Oppenheimer producer] for having faith in me for 20 years and six feckin’ pictures. Thanks so much.”
According to reports, during the live broadcast of Murphy's speech, the sound dropped out when he said: "Six feckin' pictures. Thanks so much." However, the Golden Globes later posted the speech in full to its YouTube channel. cillian murphy

The actor also said:  "One of the most beautiful and vulnerable things about being an actor is that you can’t do it on your own, really. "We had the most incredible ensemble cast in this movie. It was magic and some of them are here today. Emily Blunt, Robert Downey Jr., Matt Damon, Gary Oldman - thank you for carrying me and holding me through this movie. "Oh, to all my fellow nominees, if you're Irish or not, you're all legends. Your stunning work - I salute you." Closing his speech, Murphy added: "To my family, I'm the luckiest man. I love you. Thanks so much guys."
