David Beckham, Gary Neville and their pals could be rocking up to Galway once Covid is over, if a promise made by Neville today is anything to go by.
Salford City, the English League 2 club owned by David Beckham, Gary Neville and some of their former Manchester United team mates, could come over to play Galway United in a friendly in a post-Covid world, as long as one condition is realised.
Conducting a Twitter Q&A this afternoon, Neville was asked by a follower if he would bring Salford over for a friendly once restrictions allow, to which he replied 'if we go up' along with a pint emoji. Referring to promotion from League 2 this season, Neville might have to follow through on his promise as Salford currently lie seventh in the table, a position that would get them into the play-offs at the end of the season.

Salford are owned by Gary and his brother Phil, as well as fellow members of United's famed 'Class of 92', namely Beckham, Nicky Butt, Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes. The lads would surely have a great time bringing their team to Eamonn Deacy Park and enjoying all the Galwegian cultural delights that would go with it.
Beckham is currently busy in Florida with his Inter Miami franchise and is rarely seen at Salford games but a trip to Galway might be too good to turn down. Everyone in the city will doubtless be cheering Salford on for the rest of the season.
