In the last year or so, public interest has built significantly surrounding Britney Spears's conservatorship and the "Free Britney" movement.

We've watched in horror as Britney's battle with her father regarding her freedom and control over her finances was laid out in the documentary Framing Britney Spears. We've joined in with the other Britney stans on insta insisting "we commented on the last post for her to wear orange if she's in trouble and now she's wearing orange". We've told JT to cry us a river after his apology to Britney and Janet earlier this year was just too little too late. Basically, we're all proud card-carrying members of the Leave Britney Alone club, so it's great to hear that new evidence has been released that could help her finally bring an end to this conservatorship, and that Britney herself will be appearing in court to speak on the matter. https://www.instagram.com/p/CQHqup3Axui/ Britney regularly posts on social media with no mention of the very public battle with her dad, Jamie.  The New York Times released an article today with details of Britney's attempts over the years to end the conservatorship, that she was afraid of her father and that he controlled not just her finances but other aspects of her life, from who she dated to whether or not she could paint her kitchen cabinets. The court case over the conservatorship is ongoing, but this will be the first known time Britney will address the court in over two years. As the case continues, legal bills are racking up, and bizarrely the nature of the conservatorship means that Britney pays for lawyers on both sides. We've all been eager to hear her speak herself on the matter, so it'll be interesting to see what comes out of her pending court appearance.
