Big news as Bebo is belatedly bouncing back

We've got some good Bebo news and we've got some bad Bebo news.

Initally launched in 2005, for many social media users, Bebo was almost like some kind of My First Facebook, but had people vying to be in each other's Top 16, or My Other Half (are we remembering that right?), and there would be the Video Box, where you could put in your favourite music video (remember them?) or whatever you were into at the time. In 2005, it was great. In 2021, it is probably causing some kind of post-traumatic stress in readers, knowing that they people they are today are very much NOT the people they were over fifteen years ago. Don't judge us on our Bebo photos, please! We were young and foolish and dyed tips were in fashion! (bursts into tears) Anyways, if you head over to Bebo.com now, you'll see the following message:

"Bebo is coming back in February 2021 as a brand new social network. We are currently in private beta. If you've been invited please enter the password below."

If that has sent a chill down your spine, maybe because of those aforementioned photos, then let us bring you back to the good Bebo news and the bad Bebo news, which in this case, is one and the same: "PLEASE NOTE: All old data and photos were lost many years ago and are not recoverable. Sorry." Yep, they're all gone. So either you're sad that you won't be able to deep dive of mid-00's nostalgia, or you're delighted that some of the fashion crimes you committed back then are lost forever to the void of the internet. Bebo is currently owned by Amazon subsidary Twitch, following a buy out in July 2019, so we've no idea what this brand new social network will consist of, but we'll most definitely be keeping an eye on it.
