9 Of The Greatest Things That Happened In Ireland During Storm Emma

Storm Emma has been and gone, the snow is melting and Ireland is slowly getting back on its feet. 

The shocking incidents in Tallaght on Friday night made headlines here and around the world, but it's important not to let them be the only thing we remember about the last few days. 

There was also a huge amount of kindness, generosity and good-natured fun going around.

1. Thanks to the staff at Crumlin Children's Hospital, this little girl got to play with some snow

2. 86-year-old Eileen Maguire had a fantastic time sledding in Cork with her grandson Jack

3. People helped their neighbours out 

This morn one of the wives called down and gave me the keys to her front wheel drive to go to work easier in as she knew mine was rear wheel (dodgy in the snow).
I’ve never met her until yesterday.
This snow bought a lot of people together

4. And jumped in to help the emergency services

5. This lad delivered bread to people who forgot to stock up 

6. There were wholesome snowball fights

7. The penguins at Dublin Zoo were lovin life 

8. Irish Rail worked their butts off 

9. As did many gardai, fire fighters, doctors, nurses, county council workers, AA Roadwatch, carers and more
