The humble chip sambo has just been discovered in America and quite frankly, we're surprised that it's taken them so long.
A staple snack of many a hungry guy or gal in the UK and Ireland (we ate at least two of these bad boys a week in secondary school), the chip butty is, according to NYC based food site Insider Food, a "Turkish sandwich stuffed with fries."
Ah, lads. C'mon.
Fries aren’t just a side, they are the main attraction ???? pic.twitter.com/tDMW3QjT09

Sandwich with fries ???????? it's a chip butty!! Imagine when they discover you can put curry sauce on that and bring it to a whole other level.

What have you americans been doing for the last 100 years? Ignoring what the world eats? First you try to steal sausage rolls; now your trying to stealth the UK, Aussie, NZ, Irish, Scottish every day "cheap food"? Even in Istanbul; they stole it from the Brits. Worlds laughin@ya

We're glad it's on their radar though. Plus, it's given us some serious inspo for our dinner tonight...
