Youtube has long been the home of music for many especially a younger generation but the whole system was a little flawed and it felt like it was hacked together. Artists used Vevo, most videos had ads and although you could make playlists and use some other tools there were lots of obstacles to overcome. Yesterday Youtube aimed to change all that by introducing Youtube Key. You pay 7.99 a month and for that you get no ads, proper tools like offline listening and a much better experience. Spotify for Video if you will! The service is invite only but when you watch this chronological video featuring Youtube stars you realize just what they have done for music culture over the last decade or so. The app is free for the first six months of use and is invite only to start.
