This is one of the most beautiful places to visit in all of Ireland.

When visiting the west of Ireland, most people like to head to Westport to head on a weekend sesh.

Others opt to go to its neighbouring town, Louisburgh, which is one of the greatest small towns in all of Ireland.

But Achill Island is often overlooked.

And it's a shame really, because the journey to get there is probably the best and most scenic route in all of Ireland.

Many like to cycle The Great Western Greenway to Achill Island from Westport and like to set up camp for the night once there.

And it's easy to see why, it's a place rich in history and craic (we recommend visiting the deserted village while down there).

It attracts a lot of tourists, and recently this Irish girl's "indian friend" visited the island but while they were there, spend the whole time mispronouncing it.

And anyone who has visited Achill will know that it can be absolutely baltic place even on the hottest of summer days.
