8 Important Things To Know Before You Enter Today’s Slane Castle Gig

Guns N' Roses take to Slane today for one of the most anticipated Irish gigs of the year.

Many of the revelers will have been at the venue before but those who haven't we've compiled a small list of things you should know before you leave the house.

1. Plan ahead

Gates open at 2pm and no queueing is permitted beforehand. Take your time.

2. Wear your wellies

Rain is forecast so things are likely to get muddy.

3. Don't bring an umbrella or garden furniture

They are among a list of prohibited items .

4. Prepare for a long walk

Buses don't get too close to the venue. A fair stroll awaits to and from the venue but sure this is how you make mates at festivals.

5. You won't be allowed take booze into the venue

A big no no. Finish up before you get to the gate.

6. There will be 'limited' ATMs so bring cash

Unless you're planning on busking for your burger.

7. Don't worry about getting near the front

One of the best things about Slane is the hill that gives it an amphitheatre effect. You'll get a great view from the back and this means you'll get out quicker at the end.
