There's one county in Ireland that everyone quite often takes a stab at.
It's hilly, it's never appeared in an All Ireland final, and finally, it has no traffic lights.
You guessed it! We're on about County Leitrim
Often bashed and rarely praised, we've decided to pull together some reasons as to why Leitrim is actually the business. So, buckle up, as we're about to change your whole perspective on Lovely, Lovely Leitrim.

And for that, we are eternally grateful.
Yes, Carrick-on-Shannon claims the top spot for stag parties, hen parties and general merriment in the whole world. Have you ever seen it on a bank holiday?!

When it's done right, it's light, fluffy, crispy and delicious - and, whaddayaknow, it's a Leitrim delicacy! It can be found in droves in the Connacht county.
Leitrim is basically the adventure county - with ample room, loads of lakes and absolutely tonnes of opportunities to try out any activity you'd ever wanted to try.
The Shannon Blueway is the spot for water sports, while sailing, hill-walking and clay pigeon shooting and are flavours of every month everywhere else.
We couldn't write up a list without mention of the traffic lights situation. Well, could we?
Leitrim famously never boasted a set of traffic lights in the whole county. Ones were installed back in 2003, but were then removed as they weren't needed and caused too much confusion.
